This incident follows closely on the heels of another firearm recovery. In Kilimani, Nairobi, police discovered a pistol abandoned in the men’s restroom of a well-known restaurant.
The owner, believed to be a licensed gun holder, had inadvertently left the weapon behind after a visit to the facility.
The Steyr C9-A2 MF pistol, equipped with 16 bullets, was placed on the cistern of the toilet and subsequently forgotten.
Luckily, the firearm was spotted shortly after the owner’s departure, leading to a swift response from law enforcement. The police were alerted by the restaurant’s manager and promptly took custody of the firearm for safekeeping.
