On the morning of October 19, Kenyans were woken up to videos circulating over a troubling road accident involving six vehicles. The accident occurred along the Southern Bypass in Nairobi, just two weeks after a series of accidents along the same road resulted in loss of life.
The collision, captured in a video shared online, took place at the Lang’ata Interchange, causing six vehicles to pile on top of each other.
At the time of publishing this article, emergency responders and traffic officers had already reached the scene to manage the situation.
In October, Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen conducted an impromptu visit to the road in response to complaints from motorists regarding newly installed speed bumps along the route.
According to drivers, these newly erected speed bumps are excessively high, causing drivers to lose control of their vehicles.
Additionally, motorists have raised concerns about the lack of proper road signage and indicators along this busy highway.
In response to these issues, CS Murkomen ordered the deployment of police officers to monitor and regulate the road, in an effort to enhance safety for all users.
