The Jubilee party has initiated a series of leadership changes within the National Executive Committee (NEC) to fill the void left by politicians who have secured prominent positions in the State.
In a statement released on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, the party declared that the alterations made by the NEC would involve the replacement of eight officials.
The statement by the party’s Secretary-General, Jeremiah Kioni, cited the Constitution of Kenya 2010, Chapter 6 on Leadership and Integrity, section 77, which explicitly prohibits all state officials from holding any office in a political party.
“In this regard and by operation of law, the following Jubilee Party National Executive Members who have been appointed to and accepted various positions in government are deemed to have resigned from their positions in the party leadership,” said Kioni.
Among the changes, Beatrice Gambo will assume the role of Deputy Party Leader (Outreach), succeeding Naomi Shaban.
Joseph Manje will step into the position of the party’s Programs Deputy Leader, succeeding Peter Ole Mositet, who assumed the role of Chairperson Namata.
Saitoti Torome has been announced as the successor to Nelson Dzuya as the party’s National Chairperson, and Kados Muiruri will replace Angwenyi Jimmy Ondieki as the Deputy Party Leader (Strategy).
Yasir Noor will take over as the Deputy Secretary-General, filling the vacancy left by Joshua Kuttuny, who was appointed Chairperson of the Kenya Copyright Board (KECOBO).
Further changes include Ndiritu Murrithi replacing Joel Kibe as the National Chairperson of the Business Council, and digital strategist Pauline Njoroge stepping in for Mutava Musyimi as the Deputy National Organizing Secretary.
