Jamaican dancehall sensation Shenseea, whose real name is Chinsea Linda Lee, has addressed the circumstances surrounding the cancellation of her scheduled tour in Kenya. Setting the record straight, the recording artist clarified on her Instagram page that the decision to cancel was not hers but was made based on security concerns raised by certain individuals. These advisors suggested rescheduling the tour for a later date.
Expressing regret over the cancellation, Shenseea also confirmed that she promptly refunded all payments made for the show. This response came after a fan publicly inquired about the status of the concert for which they had purchased ticket
“So I was booked for Kenya and due to safety concerns that were brought to my attention, I was told it was best to reschedule. I chose to refund my deposit than hold on to it without a date being set.”
“The promoters assured me that all monies would be refunded to patrons as well. I look forward to performing in Kenya soon! Thank you to all my supporters for understanding!”
In July, the ‘Blessed’ hitmaker had initially announced her upcoming performance in Kenya with excitement, revealing her participation in the Sababisha Festival at Uhuru Gardens on August 26th.
However, just a month later, Shenseea shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, expressing disappointment over the turn of events and apologizing to her Kenyan fans for any disappointment caused.
“First of all, Kenya, let me start off by saying that I love you guys so much, but I am so sorry that everything did not go as we were all expecting,” she posted.
“I am really disappointed because I was looking forward to coming there and having such a grand time with you guys. You should all know that when I touch down there, it is going to be problems Bro!”
Tickets for the ‘Sababisha Festival’ were priced between Ksh 3,000 and Ksh 8,000.
