Man crushed by train in Mombasa

The body of a 21-year-old man was found on a railway track at Bonje area in Mombasa County.

According to the authorities, the incident occurred on Sunday morning, and the victim was identified as Hamisi Said.

The body had been severely crushed by the train along the meter gauge railway line, with the right leg and right hand completely severed.

Authorities have moved the body to the Coast General Hospital, where it awaits a postmortem examination.

Police stated that they are yet to determine whether the incident was a tragic accident or a deliberate act of suicide.

In a separate incident in Elmentaita, Nakuru County, tragedy struck as Elijah Mutheki drowned in a dam while tending to his duties on a farm.

The incident occurred on Saturday, February 10, in Ngesha village, with authorities launching an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the drowning.
