Police are currently investigating an incident involving suspected thugs who broke into the National Registration Bureau office in Narok County, stealing computers during the Wednesday night incident.
Upon reporting for duty, the staff discovered that the main door had been forcefully broken. Stolen items included HP computers equipped with two CPUs and two HP live capture computers with their respective CPUs.
The police processed the scene and initiated an investigation into the matter. Officers handling the case suspect that the thieves specifically targeted the machines to access information contained within.
The incident has disrupted operations at the office, and officials are actively seeking alternatives to address the immediate needs.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and the stolen items have not been recovered. Police are considering the possibility of an inside job contributing to the successful break-in.
Despite being manned by armed police officers, it remains unclear why the break-in was not detected at the time it occurred. Investigations are ongoing to ascertain the details surrounding the security lapse.
