A Canadian woman has publicly called out Vincent Mboya, a Kenyan content creator based in Canada, accusing him of misrepresenting their relationship.
In a social media post, the woman expressed her surprise and dismay when Mboya shared a video featuring her, referring to her as “my babe.”
She disclosed that she works as a photographer and that Mboya approached her with the proposition of collaborating on content after noticing her camera. Despite being new in the city, Mboya reached out to her, and she agreed to spend some time with him out of kindness. However, she clarified that they were never alone together, and she even refrained from letting him walk her to her car.
The video shared by Mboya depicted them having fun together, seemingly at a Video Game Arcade, where they rode a motorcycle and shared laughter.
However, the situation took an unexpected turn when Mboya claimed publicly that they were dating. When the woman confronted him about this claim, he allegedly blocked her.
“This guy is trying to portray me as his girlfriend. I was okay with filming content together, but when I questioned why he referred to me as ‘my babe’ with heart emojis, he responded by calling me petty and insecure. All I did was extend some kindness by spending time with him, and now I find myself blocked. I can’t even defend myself or comment on the situation. He’s out there pretending like I’m his girlfriend,” she expressed.
The woman’s account sheds light on the importance of honesty and respect in interpersonal relationships, particularly in the context of social media portrayal.
