Paul ‘Wakimani’ sparked controversy with his remarks following the passing of TikToker Brian Chira, suggesting that netizens could finally feel relieved with his absence from social media.

Wakimani expressed his view that Chira didn’t deserve to be labeled a content creator, rather likening him to “a camera in the wrong hands,” implying that his content lacked value and may have caused harm to others. Despite acknowledging Chira’s faults, Wakimani urged forgiveness in light of his death.

“Am Glad that Brian Chira will no longer be on our social media. Kenyans called him a “Content Creator” but what I say it was “A Camera in the wrong hands”.Alikosea wengi sana!..Hio nayo hatutasau lakini lazima tusamehe…Juu Amekufa!” he wrote.

However, Wakimani’s comments drew criticism from many who found them hurtful and insensitive. Some pointed out the irony of Wakimani’s own social media usage, implying that he too might be using his platform irresponsibly.
