A collaborative effort between Anti-Narcotics and Transnational Organized Crimes detectives has resulted in the arrest of four individuals suspected of drug trafficking, including three Nigerian nationals.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Igboke Okwuchukwu Stephen was apprehended at his residence in Nasra Estate, Nairobi, where law enforcement officers discovered concealed pellets containing a brown powdery substance.
Subsequently, detectives also arrested Ilo Ebuka Titus and Kanu Arinze at their home in Sunton, Kasarani. During a search of the premises, authorities uncovered suspected cannabis and a package containing a similar brown powdery substance. The trio—Kanu, Ebuka, and Okwuchukwu—have been transported to Muthaiga Police Station pending drug tests and legal proceedings.
In a separate operation in Ruaka, 25-year-old Njuguna Karumo was taken into custody after similar illicit substances were found concealed under the floor mats of his vehicle during a routine stop-and-search procedure.
Karumo is currently undergoing questioning at DCI’s Mazingira Complex.
The DCI has announced plans to expand this operation across all counties in an effort to eradicate drug trafficking and curb the proliferation of drug abuse within the nation.
