After 13 seasons anchoring the offensive line for the Philadelphia Eagles, Jason Kelce has officially announced his retirement from the NFL.
Speculation about Kelce’s retirement had been circulating for some time, and the 36-year-old center’s emotional display during the Eagles’ playoff loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in January seemed to foreshadow his decision.
Selected in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft, Kelce remained loyal to Philadelphia throughout his entire playing career. He etched his name in Eagles history by helping the team secure their first-ever Super Bowl victory in 2017.
Notably, Kelce shares a special connection with his younger brother, Travis Kelce, who plays tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs. The siblings made history as the first to compete against each other in a Super Bowl, with Travis emerging victorious in a thrilling matchup that saw the Chiefs triumph over the Eagles.
While Travis continued to add to his Super Bowl accolades with another championship win last month, the Kelce brothers also collaborate off the field, co-hosting a podcast together. Additionally, Travis garnered attention during the 2023 NFL season for his high-profile romance with pop superstar Taylor Swift.
Jason Kelce leaves behind a remarkable legacy in the NFL, boasting seven Pro Bowl selections and a streak of starting in all 193 regular-season games he played, along with every postseason game throughout his career.
