The inauguration ceremony for the new Chief Registrar of the Judiciary, Hon. Frida Mokaya, is scheduled for today, Monday, March 25, 2024, at 9:30 am in the Chief Justice foyer.

Hon. Mokaya’s appointment was officially announced on March 19. She replaces Anne Amadi who retired on January 12, 2024.

Her journey within the Judiciary commenced in February 1997 when she assumed the role of District Magistrate II (Prof) at Kisii and Kisumu Law Courts, where she served until November 1999.

From November 1999 to December 2003, Hon. Mokaya held the position of Resident Magistrate at Kisumu and Winam Law Courts.

Meanwhile, the Milimani Magistrates Court is set to deliver a ruling today on a bail application related to former PC Davis Chelogoi, who faces charges in a Sh1.35 billion land fraud case. Chelogoi has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
