The anticipated sequel to “The Batman,” starring Robert Pattinson, is encountering a delay, resulting in its release being pushed back to October 2, 2026.

Originally slated to follow its predecessor’s release in 2022, “The Batman Part II” finds itself rescheduled due to industry disruptions, particularly stemming from strikes last year. Consequently, the initial release date of October 3, 2025, has been claimed by “The Bride!,” directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal.

Helmed and co-written by Matt Reeves, “The Batman Part II” continues the narrative of the DC Comics superhero as he confronts The Riddler’s threats to Gotham City. The first installment, initially planned for 2021 but delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, garnered critical acclaim and commercial success, boasting an 85% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and grossing over $772 million worldwide.

With a stellar ensemble cast including Zoe Kravitz, Paul Dano, and Jeffrey Wright, “The Batman” has already spawned spinoff projects, such as a series centered around The Penguin, portrayed by Colin Farrell, and another focusing on the Gotham City Police Department.

Discussions about a sequel had been circulating since 2019, with key actors expressing interest in reprising their roles based on DC Comics characters.

In a 2021 interview with Empire, Robert Pattinson addressed the possibility of returning as Bruce Wayne for future installments, signaling ongoing enthusiasm for the role within the franchise.
