The driver of the ill-fated Easy Coach bus that killed a student from Chavakali Boys High School and injured dozens of others in a road accident along the Kisumu-Kakamega highway has today been arraigned and charged before a Kisumu law court.
George Onyango Riako pleaded not guilty to 10 counts, which included causing the death of one student and injuring nine others. He was granted release on a Ksh.200,000 cash bail or a Ksh.500,000 bond alternative.
Appearing before Principal Magistrate D.K Mtai at the Winam Law Court, it was alleged that Onyango was overspeeding on April 1, resulting in the accident that claimed the life of Joseph Mwadulo, a student from Chavakali Boys High School.
