Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has issued a directive requiring all landlords and building owners in Kitale to adhere to a uniform color scheme, specifically opting for the color green.
Addressing residents in the town, Natembeya emphasized the importance of adopting a uniform color to give the town a distinct identity and eliminate the presence of rundown buildings.
Under the directive, all landlords are instructed to inspect their properties and ensure that the walls are renovated to a light green color, as specified by the Governor.
“Huwezi kaa na mabati for seventy years na hubadilishi. I’m asking the landlords, hata nyinyi mtapewa notice na municipal board, mfanye renovations,” he said.
Natembeya’s initiative aims to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the town and mitigate its visual shortcomings. The Governor has already initiated the implementation of this plan in various parts of the town.
County workers have expressed their support for the Governor’s initiative, applauding the efforts to improve the town’s appearance. Additionally, plans are underway to conduct monthly clean-up exercises in Kitale to further contribute to the town’s revitalization efforts.
“Tumekubaliana na county government kwamba, kila tarehe kumi na saba tutakuwa na mambo ya clean-up exercise ya town yetu,” one worker told the Nation.
