Outgoing Kenyan High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Manoah Esipisu, has been honored as the Diplomat of the Year 2024 from Africa, alongside nine other influential diplomats based in the United Kingdom.
Esipisu expressed gratitude for the award, emphasizing that it highlighted Kenya’s efforts in fostering strong bilateral relations and leadership on global issues.
Upon receiving the award, the Kenyan High Commissioner attributed his success to the support from his colleagues at the Kenyan Mission, his family, the President, and the Kenyan government.
“To be performing at the highest level here is because of the support I have got from my colleagues at the Kenyan Mission and from my beautiful wife who is here and my family, and I want to thank them dearly for this,” he said.
“Lastly, I have to thank my president for asking me to come to London and our government for supporting me through this period.”
The awards ceremony, organized annually by Diplomat magazine and now in its 14th year, was attended by Ambassadors, High Commissioners, and diplomats from over 70 and 90 countries, respectively. It was held at The Peninsula London on Hyde Park Corner on Monday.
The awards recognize the outstanding work and achievements of London’s diplomatic community in improving their nations’ well-being.
Esipisu was appointed by former President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2018.
