Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has provided an explanation for the recent flooding witnessed across major estates within the city, including Kilimani.

In a statement released on Monday, April 22, the governor attributed the flooding to the bursting of various rivers, notably the Ngong River and the Mau Mau River. He also mentioned that the county government has initiated plans to address the situation.

“The bursting of the Ngong River banks has affected many areas across the city especially downstream including the flooding of Mbagathi Roundabout, flooding in Ectoville Industrial Estate in Mukuru kwa Rueben Ward, flooding in Mwiki Ward along Eastern bypass.

However, Sakaja advised Kenyans to remain vigilant as the weatherman had projected more rains for the week ahead.
