In an early morning operation led by Anti-Narcotic detectives in Kisauni, Mombasa County, a suspected drug trafficker, Zuher Ali Mohamed, was apprehended on Wednesday. The arrest followed reports from concerned residents about his alleged involvement in illegal drug trade.
During the operation, the police found Mohamed in possession of several sachets of heroin and bhang. In addition to the drugs, suspected drug-money was recovered from the suspect, and his vehicle was impounded.
“Also seized from the suspect are his vehicle which it believed to be a proceed of crime, cash Ksh.26,250 and USD 200, a weighing machine, packaging envelopes and three mobile phones believed to contain data of his accomplices,” the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said in a statement on X.
Mohamed is scheduled to be arraigned at the Mombasa Law Courts on Thursday to face charges related to drug trafficking.
