Taylor Swift’s latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” has stirred up interest surrounding her past feud with Kim Kardashian.
The 34-year-old singer surprised fans on April 19 with a double album, which arrived just two hours after she released her 11th studio album, “TTPD: The Anthology.”
One track on the album, “thanK you aIMee,” has particularly caught attention. In the song, Swift sings about being bullied, leading some fans to speculate that she’s referencing Kardashian.
A source close to the 43-year-old reality TV star says she isn’t bothered by the song and believes Swift should move on.
According to the source, Kardashian doesn’t understand why Swift keeps dredging up the past, especially since it’s been years since their feud began.
The chorus of the song includes lines like, “All that time you were throwin’ punches, I was buildin’ somethin’ / And I can’t forgive the way you made me feel.” Later, Swift changes the chorus to, “All that time you were throwin’ punches, it was all for nothin’ / An our town, it look so small from way up here / Screamed ‘Thank you, Aimee’ to the night sky and the stars are stunnin’ / ‘Cause I can’t forget the way you made me heal.”
The song also mentions Swift removing “any real defining clues” about the subject’s identity and her saying, “I changed your name,” which fans speculate refers to her feud with Kardashian.
The feud between Swift and Kardashian began in 2016 when Kardashian’s ex-husband, Kanye West, mentioned Swift in his song “Famous.”
Swift stated she didn’t know about the song’s lyrics and didn’t approve of them. Kardashian then released edited videos of a phone call between West and Swift in an attempt to prove her side of the story.
In 2019, Kardashian said they had all moved on from the fight, but Swift seemed to suggest otherwise in a rare interview.
She expressed a desire for those who had bullied her to apologize, appearing to reference the phone call and West’s song.
