Renowned Kenyan news anchor Victoria Rubadiri has officially joined CNN for a new role in the international media house’s long-running multiplatform series, ‘Connecting Africa’, and as part of the network’s newsgathering operation in Nairobi.
As the series enters its fifth year on CNN International, Rubadiri will be a part of the team, focusing on telling the stories of emerging and expanding businesses across Africa and exploring the impacts of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement.
Rubadiri’s transition to CNN comes after her tenure at Citizen TV, where she served as a senior anchor and reporter. With extensive experience as a radio presenter in both Kenya and the US, where she pursued a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Broadcast Journalism at Temple University in Philadelphia, Rubadiri has demonstrated a strong commitment to storytelling.
In recognition of her exceptional talent in telling African stories, Rubadiri was awarded the BBC World News Komla Dumor Award in 2020.
Expressing her excitement about joining CNN, Rubadiri said, “I’m extremely excited for the opportunity to work at CNN and to bring my experience and passion to its global audience.”
