Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has unveiled plans for the establishment of a nightclub within Uhuru Park. Sakaja emphasized that this initiative aims to provide an alternative venue for nightlife, diverting attention from the proliferation of nightclubs in residential areas.
“There is a nightclub that is going to be here. We agreed hiyo kupiga kelele kwa estate muache. You can come here and scream until the cows come home,” he said.
“That is the zone, sherehe mfanyie hapo.”
According to Sakaja, the specific sites for these facilities have already been earmarked, and he assured potential business operators interested in the park’s ventures of a transparent process.
Addressing attendees during the handover ceremony of the park by the Ministry of Defence, Sakaja outlined that the tendering process will soon commence in compliance with the provisions of the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act (PPDA).
Simultaneously, the governor urged the public, especially Nairobi residents, to uphold the integrity of the park and refrain from any acts of vandalism.
