Detectives from the Transnational Organised Crimes and Anti-Narcotics Unit discovered 12 sacks of bhang and six sets of car number plates from the residence of a notorious trafficker.
The breakthrough occurred shortly after the agency’s officers intercepted another 50 sacks of the same drug along the Kisii-Rongo highway.
According to the officers, the suspect had been temporarily released from Muthaiga police cells for a search of his residence at the Utawala AP Stage, where the recoveries were made, including a digital weighing scale.
“Besides concealing the identities of his accomplices who are believed to have gone into hiding upon his arrest, the suspect also refused to sign the inventory of the recoveries seized from his house,” DCI revealed.
Investigations are ongoing, aiming to identify the recipients of his drug supplies.
