Radio presenter Shaquille O’Neill Oduk, popularly known as Shaq the Yungin, has announced his departure from NRG Radio after a six-year tenure.
In a statement on Tuesday, Shaq expressed his gratitude to the management for the opportunity, highlighting his appreciation for his colleagues and the fans who have supported him throughout his time on air.
“After six years of working at NRG Radio, I hereby announce my resignation from the company. I bid farewell to my colleagues, management, and most importantly to the fans that have tuned in every day for the last six years while I was on air,” Shaq stated.
As Shaq looks forward to the next phase of his career, he is hopeful for new opportunities and has asked for continued support from his fans. He shared his announcement on Instagram, describing the moment as “new vibes.”
“Hardest choice that I’ve been thinking of making for a minute but yeah, I’m gonna miss you all on this side! God bless all who were part of the journey,” Shaq captioned his post. He added a metaphorical reflection, saying, “When you have a shark in a fish bowl, it is going to break it one day.”
Shaq kept his future plans under wraps, urging his fans not to speculate about his next move. “Don’t guess where I’m going, I am the only one that knows! See you in a bit, WE OUTSIDE,” he concluded.
His resignation follows the recent exits of Radio DJ Xclusive and host Mwalimu Rachel from NRG Radio, both of whom have since joined Radio Africa Group.
