Former Kirinyaga Woman Representative Wangui Ngirici has urged President William Ruto to complete stalled development projects in Central Kenya that were initiated during former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s tenure.
Speaking at Thiba grounds in Mwea East Sub-County during a thanksgiving ceremony, Ngirici emphasized the need for infrastructure improvements in Kirinyaga, particularly roads to facilitate the transportation of farm produce.
“We are not begging but demanding that President Ruto ensures the completion of projects started by Uhuru Kenyatta. Kirinyaga is an agricultural county, and farmers need good roads to get their produce to the market,” she stated.
Ngirici also declared her 2027 gubernatorial bid, confirming that she will run as an independent candidate. She claimed that despite her significant role in popularizing the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) in Mount Kenya before the 2022 elections, she was ultimately betrayed by Ruto’s administration.
“I made UDA popular in Kirinyaga and recruited members, but what I received from President Ruto was betrayal. I am not ready for another betrayal. I will be an independent candidate come 2027,” she affirmed.
