Equity Bank has been unveiled as the title sponsor of the inaugural Murang’a Investment Conference 2025, after signing a KSh15 million sponsorship deal with the Murang’a County Government.

The partnership was sealed between Equity Group CEO Dr. James Mwangi and Murang’a Governor Dr. Irungu Kang’ata, setting the stage for a major economic forum scheduled for June 13–14, 2025, at Thika Greens Golf Resort.

“Equity is not just sponsoring this conference; we are investing in the future of the people,” said Dr. Mwangi, adding that the event aligns with the bank’s mission of transforming lives, expanding opportunities, and fostering local enterprise.

With the theme “Unlocking Murang’a as an Industrial Hub,” the conference will spotlight investment opportunities in agro-processing, manufacturing, technology, education, housing, and healthcare.

Governor Kang’ata emphasized that the county is offering thousands of acres of land, some within Export Processing Zones (EPZs) and Special Economic Zones (SEZs), complete with tax incentives, expedited licensing, and access to key transport corridors linking the region to Thika and Nairobi.

“We are not just building Murang’a; we are positioning it as Kenya’s next industrial frontier. With Equity Bank onboard, we gain a partner that understands grassroots transformation,” said Governor Kang’ata.

The conference is expected to attract local and international investors, development partners, and policymakers focused on sustainable economic growth and job creation in the central Kenya region.
