Detectives are investigating the brutal murder of a 78-year-old woman in Machakos Town after her body was discovered half-naked outside a house.
The deceased, identified as Esther Kadogo, was a long-time employee at Teatot Hotel and also worked as a caretaker of a nearby farm.
Body Found With Injuries
According to police reports, Kadogo’s lifeless body was discovered on Sunday, August 17, with visible injuries to her ear. A white substance was also seen oozing from her mouth and nose, pointing to a possible violent assault.
Police confirmed that the assailants fled the scene immediately after attacking her. The motive of the murder is still unknown, and investigations are ongoing.
Missing Dogs From the Compound
Authorities revealed that Kadogo lived alone in the compound with about 10 dogs, which were either killed or stolen by the attackers. Despite mounting a search, police were unable to recover the animals.
Body Taken for Autopsy
The body of the deceased was moved to the local mortuary pending a postmortem examination to determine the cause of death.
Police in Machakos are appealing to residents to provide any information that could help track down the suspects. No arrests have been made so far.
