Siakago, Embu County – August 5, 2025 –
Police in Siakago, Embu County, have launched investigations into the suspected murder of a 63-year-old man, whose body was discovered under mysterious circumstances in his rental house.
Victim Identified as Amos Gakere Mwangi
The deceased, Amos Gakere Mwangi, was found lying near the back door of his home with blood oozing from his mouth and visible injuries on his left ear, raising suspicions of foul play. Local authorities reported that the victim may have suffered blunt force trauma, but the exact cause of death is yet to be confirmed.
“We are treating this as a suspected homicide,” said a senior officer from the Embu County police department. “The injuries on the body are not consistent with natural death.”
The body was transferred to Siakago Sub-County Hospital Mortuary pending a postmortem examination.
Motive Remains Unclear
Police have yet to determine the motive behind the murder, and no arrests had been made at the time of publishing. Residents have called on the authorities to increase security and expedite the investigation to bring those responsible to justice.
