Meru County, Kenya – Detectives in Meru County are investigating a tragic incident in which a three-year-old girl died after ingesting pesticide at her family’s home in Muili, Tigania.

According to police reports, the minor was under the care of her elder sister when she stumbled upon a bottle containing an anti-pesticide chemical. She reportedly drank the substance, which caused her to start vomiting.

Family members rushed the child to a nearby hospital, but she was pronounced dead while receiving treatment.

Police officers visited the hospital on Tuesday as part of their ongoing investigations. The girl’s body was transferred to the mortuary for an autopsy and other formal procedures.

Authorities have urged parents and guardians to store harmful chemicals securely and out of children’s reach to prevent such tragedies.

This heartbreaking case underscores the importance of strict household safety measures, especially in homes with young children.
