Police have launched investigations after two separate bodies were discovered in different incidents, raising fresh concerns over unexplained deaths in parts of northeastern Kenya.
Decomposed Body Found on February 12
Authorities confirmed that a decomposed body was discovered on February 12, 2026. According to police, the body was in an advanced state of decomposition at the time of recovery.
The deceased was not immediately identified. Officers processed the scene before moving the body to a local mortuary, where it awaits an autopsy and other identification procedures.
Police say investigations are ongoing to establish the identity of the victim and the circumstances surrounding the death.
Man Found Dead Under Tree in Fafi, Garissa County
In a separate incident in Fafi, Garissa County, a 40-year-old man identified as Yakub Kenadhid was found dead under a tree.
According to police reports, the body showed no visible signs of physical injuries at the time it was discovered. Authorities later transferred the body to the mortuary pending a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Investigations Underway
Police have not indicated whether the two incidents are related. Investigators are awaiting autopsy results to help determine the causes of death in both cases.
