Former ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru has been appointed as president at JUMO, a fintech company.
“We are honoured to be able to welcome Joe to JUMO. He brings an invaluable perspective given his experience as an entrepreneur, Google executive and regulator,” Jumo founder Andrew Watkins-Ball said in a statement to newsrooms.
JUMO is a mobile financial service platform for mobile network operators and banks that is backed by Goldman-Sachs.
Valued at Sh49.7 billion ($400 million), Jumo offers financial services to entrepreneurs and businesses in emerging markets. It offers credit and saving products to customers as well as infrastructure for telcos, banks, fintech and e-commerce platforms.
According to the company, its system is focused on making it easier for capital providers to be able to reach new customers at affordable prices whilst making predictable returns.
