The ongoing lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBTQ) debate in the country has taken a new twist after Nyali Mp Mohammed Ali said they should be jailed.
The second term Mp has said it is a sheer waste of time discussing about the queer community.
Taking to his official Twitter handle on Tuesday, January 10, Ali elected on President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party ticket maintained that being a member of the LGBTQ community is illegal in Kenya.
“Let us not waste time discussing LQBTQ or whatever name they call it,” said the Mp
“Its illegal, God doesn’t like it and we should not entertain it. On this one Democracy my foot! Jail them,” he said.
Ali’s sentiments come just days after Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi also said Kenyans will never accept LGBTQs.
“Our culture is that you are born, go to school, get circumcised, get a job, get married and have children. Those who are gays, if their parents were like them they would not have been born,” said the politician at a function in his constituency on Saturday.
“That is satanism, as the church and as leaders we will not accept,” he said.
