Revealed: Petrol stations selling adulterated fuel

The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has published a list of seven fuel stations, from across the country that were found selling adulterated motor fuels in the period between October and December 2022.

EPRA made the discovery after conducting routine tests at 1,040 petroleum sites to determine whether the stations were compliant.

“During the period Oct-Dec 2022, 5,044 tests were conducted at 1,040 petroleum sites,” said EPRA in a public notice on Friday. 

The seven stations which were found selling adulterated fuel are as follows.

  1. Joy Filling Station (Kwale)
  2. Remuki Filling Station (Tharaka Nithi)
  3. Joy-M Filling Station (Ngara)
  4. Glorious Filling Station (Kitui)
  5. Kwa Kalekye Filling Station (Kitui)
  6. Jackson Thuranira Filling Station (Meru)
  7. Moonlight Filling Station located in Kibos, Kisumu County.
