Police in Nairobi are investigating a robbery incident that occurred on Monday night at Public Service Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa’s Loresho home.

The CS had not yet returned home when a gang of three men armed with crude weapons gained access to the compound by cutting the electric perimeter wall at about 1:45 am.

They then accessed the main house through the backdoor which was not locked. The Cabinet Secretary’s two daughters were asleep inside the house. Apparently, police sergeant James Warui who was guarding the property at the time did not hear the thugs break in.

However once inside the house, the thugs made away with gold jewels worth Sh1 million, two laptops and three mobile phones including one belonging to CS Aisha’s daughter Ruth Kadzo.

The robbery at CS Aisha’s home took place just two weeks after another set of robbers gained access to Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi’s house in Karen.

It is still unclear how the burglars accessed the well-guarded home on January 31 and managed to steal a Samsung television set and a gas cylinder yesterday afternoon.

A review of CCTV footage by police showed that two men managed to jump the perimeter fence. One of the covered one of the CCTV cameras with a plastic object in order to hide their identity.
