Popular columnist Njoki Chege has made a come back to the media industry after parting ways with technology giant Mozilla.
She made this announcement today afternoon on her social media pages.
“After a four year break from the media industry, I am happy to share that I will be taking on a new and exciting role at Kirk Tv Kenya. Looking forward to working with all of you,” she said.
Kirk TV is a Christian television station run by the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA).
Njoki who will be its CEO made a name with her fiery weekly column ‘City Girl’ that became a national spectacle every time it run on the Saturday Nation.
Like in one instance she stirred controversy in 2014 when she wrote an article criticising men who drive Subaru’s and attend rugby games.
“The unfortunate thing I have come to realise is that the young men I am supposed to date are far from being men. They are boys. Tall boys with blue Subaru Imprezzas who drink cheap liquor on weekday nights and show up to their workplaces the next morning hangovered, smelling like a brewery,” she said.
Njoki, however, left the Nation Media Group in July 2019 to join Aga Khan University as the Director of the Innovation Centre.
She then left Aga Khan in September 2022 and joined the multi-giant Mozilla.
The technology giant however parted ways with Njoki with less a year into her contract.
