Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has denied media reports suggesting a dispute with Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi over office spaces.
In a statement posted on X on Sunday, Kuria emphasized his close friendship with Mudavadi, dismissing any tug-of-war between them.
“Contrary to media reports today, there is no tug of war between myself and my senior and close friend Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi. The PCS will continue operating from Railways Headquarters and myself from Harambee House,” Kuria stated.
Kuria further confirmed that Mudavadi, who also serves as the Foreign Affairs CS, will maintain his office at Railways Headquarters, as he has been doing. His own office, he pointed out, is situated at Harambee House.
The Principal Secretary for Performance and Delivery Management, Veronicah Nduva, will also be based at Harambee House. She will oversee Government Delivery Services, Performance Contracting, the State Corporations Advisory Committee, and the Inspectorate of State Corporations as per Executive Order Number 1 of 2023 issued from the Harambee House office.
This clarification follows adjustments made by the Head of Public Service, Felix Koskei, to the physical addresses of ministries and state departments. In the notification, the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary and the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, led by Musalia Mudavadi, were designated to the Old Treasury Building on Harambee Avenue.
However, Mudavadi stated in a Facebook post that his office would remain at the Railways Headquarters, reiterating that “the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs remains at the Railways Headquarters.”
As per Koskei’s announcement, Moses Kuria had been assigned an office at the Kenya Railways Headquarters on Haile Selassie Avenue. Notably, some offices retained their existing locations, including the Attorney General’s Office, the Ministries of Interior, National Treasury and Economic Planning, Defence, Roads and Transport, and Lands.
