A police manhunt has been initiated to locate two employees of Wells Fargo Security Company who have gone missing after escaping with Ksh.94,918,750, which they were entrusted to bank on behalf of Quickmart supermarkets.

According to the police, the two individuals, namely the company’s driver, Anthony Ndiuki, and Charles Mugetha, departed from Quickmart’s headquarters at approximately 8:30 a.m today morning.

They were using the company’s vehicle and conspicuously lacked police escort, which is typically the standard procedure when transporting large sums of money.

In this case, they were in possession of Ksh. 94.9 million, which constituted the proceeds from Quickmart supermarkets’ weekend sales. Their intended destination was the Family Bank branch on Kenyatta Avenue.

A statement from the police department revealed that the vehicle they had been using was discovered abandoned in the Dafam area of South C, situated next to the southern bypass. The suspects and the missing money, however, were nowhere to be found.

The Deputy Criminal Investigations Officer (DCIO) from Langata has taken charge of the investigation, and the scene was visited by the Officer in Charge of the Station (OCS).
