The BAFTA Film Awards, officially known as the British Academy Film Awards, is an annual ceremony hosted by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA). It aims to recognize outstanding contributions to film, both British and international. This year, the BAFTA 2024 Film Awards will be held on February 18.
Originally held at London’s Odeon Cinema in Leicester Square, the venue shifted to the Royal Opera House from 2007 to 2016 and the Royal Albert Hall from 2017 to 2022. The most recent ceremony took place at the Royal Festival Hall in 2023.
The prestigious award statue presented to winners features a depiction of a theatrical mask.

Commencing in 1949, the first BAFTA Awards ceremony was broadcast by the BBC in 1956, with Vivien Leigh serving as the inaugural host. Initially scheduled for April or May, the ceremony has been held in February since 2001.
