DCI officers arrest four in Moyale, recover guns and cash

The suspects had an Eckol pistol and 4 rounds of ammunition marked in Ethiopian Italics. Also recovered was cash in Kenyan currency amounting to Ksh. 83,000 and Ethiopian Birr 169,995.

Transnational Organized Crime detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) arrested four armed men in two separate operations in Moyale, Marsabit County Sunday.

They also recovered of guns, bullets, and money believed to have been proceeds of crime.

The first pair of suspects, identified as Dhenge Guyo Molu and Kotor Ali Jillo, were intercepted at Sessi area. Upon search, authorities recovered a pistol, Ksh83,000, and 169,995 Ethiopian Birr.

The motorcycle they were using was also impounded. The suspects were taken to Moyale Police Station.

In the second incident, Kelisa Dulacha Guyo and Wario Ana Halake were arrested during a botched robbery at a shop in Hilo Gold mine. The DCI responded to a distress call from the shopkeeper and cornered the suspects. During a search, a rifle loaded with six bullets was seized.

The suspects are scheduled to be arraigned in coury today, Monday the 19th.
