Social media influencer and digital content creator, Director Trevor, has addressed the buzz surrounding his recent announcement about parting ways with his longtime girlfriend, Mungai Eve, revealing that their breakup actually occurred a year ago.

Trevor however added that the two had been maintaining a facade for the sake of their followers.

In an interview with a local media house, Director Trevor, a prominent video director, and photographer, disclosed that their relationship ended in February 2023, although they continued to portray a united front for their online presence.

The online show of togetherness went on until Eve expressed her desire to disassociate from their joint projects.

“We broke up in February 2023. We remained friends and business partners until when she said she did not want to work with this brand anymore. Because she is the one who said she did not want to work with us, I had to take what belongs to me,”

He clarified that while their social media channels bore Eve’s name and face, she was essentially an employee of his brand. Trevor asserted ownership of all their YouTube pages and the Facebook accounts, emphasizing that Eve would no longer benefit from the enterprise he had built.

“The whole brand was mine. Eve was only the face of the brand. She is not part of the brand. I am hiring new employees and Eve won’t be affiliated with that brand in any way and won’t get any money from it.”

Regarding the fate of the videos created by Eve, Trevor indicated that they would remain on the channels, as she was an employee whose work belonged to the company. He confirmed that he would continue to earn revenue from these videos.

Despite the breakup, Trevor asserted that there was no animosity between them, revealing that he had left their jointly-owned house in Kileleshwa and moved to their Airbnb. He maintained that they maintained an amicable relationship and still communicated when necessary.

“Nilitoka tuu nikaanza life yangu. Nilimuachia hio nyumba .I went to stay in our Airbnb,”

His decision to retain ownership of their digital platforms has surprised many, considering his previous statement that he would leave the channels to Eve in case of a split. However, Trevor expressed confidence in starting afresh and building a brand independently, now that Eve is no longer associated with it.
