Kenyan media personality Shaffie Weru has left fans stunned by revealing the substantial income he used to earn during his tenure as a radio presenter.

In an interview with a local podcast channel on you tube, Shaffie Weru disclosed that he used to take home Ksh 1 million per month.

“Before tax, I made about Ksh 1.1 million, and that was back in the day, around 2006. Money was flowing. The earnings back then were spent on parties, buying luxurious cars, and I also had kids early. My firstborn is in university now, just calculate, 18 years ago, so I was also paying school fees,” Shaffie Weru shared.

During 2006 and 2007, Shaffie Weru was likely among the highest-paid radio presenters in Kenya, particularly when he hosted the drive show on Kiss FM with fellow presenter Kalekye Mumo before shifting to the morning show after veteran presenter Caroline Mutoko left the station.

In 2021, Shaffie Weru faced dismissal from HomeBoyz radio after making on-air comments advising women to be cautious during initial encounters with unfamiliar men.
