Sharon Kosgey, the lady who survived the tragic road accident that claimed the lives of Kenyan Marathoner and World Record holder Kelvin Kiptum and his coach, has revealed her account of the harrowing ordeal.
In her statement to the police, Sharon recounted the moments leading up to the fatal crash, affirming that the vehicle was in optimal condition and had not exhibited any issues prior to the incident.
She disclosed that she had alerted Kiptum, who was at the wheel, when she noticed the vehicle veering off the road. Despite Kiptum’s efforts, they were unable to correct the course, and realization struck too late.
As the investigation into the accident continues, the DCI officers have pledged to gather further insights into Kiptum’s final moments from individuals who were present at the scene. These findings will be made public upon the conclusion of the inquiry.
“We have recorded a statement from Sharon Kosgey, confirming that Kiptum was driving at the time of the accident. The investigation is ongoing, and we will release our findings once it is complete,” affirmed one of the officers leading the investigation.
