Five people unfortunately lost their lives with several others injured when a lorry collided head-on with a matatu along the Katito-Kendu Bay road in Kisumu.
The tragic incident occurred when a lorry transporting sand to Kisumu suffered a tire burst, causing the driver to lose control and collide with the matatu, which was en route to Homa Bay.
Among the casualties, two individuals are currently undergoing treatment at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital in Kisumu, while additional injured persons are receiving medical attention at the Nyakach sub-county hospital.
