A man in Embakasi, Nairobi, was taken into custody following the tragic death of his seven-year-old daughter during a ‘disciplinary’ incident at their home.

According to reports, the girl was fleeing from her father, who was in the process of disciplining her for reasons unknown. In her attempt to escape, she collided with a table, sustaining fatal injuries.

Despite the father’s efforts to seek medical help by rushing her to a nearby clinic, the young girl was declared dead upon arrival.

Expressing his distress, the father assured authorities that he had not intended for his daughter to come to harm.

Upon examination, police noted visible injuries on the girl’s neck, hands, and a swollen forehead.

As investigations continue, the man remains in police custody while the girl’s body has been transferred to the mortuary for autopsy.

This tragic incident serves as a reminder for parents and guardians to exercise caution and restraint when administering discipline to their children.
