Limuru Sub-County Police Commander Phillip Mwania was on Friday killed in a tragic road accident in Kitui County.
The accident occurred when Mwania’s car collided head-on with a truck along the Kitui-Mutomo Highway near the Nzeeu River around 11:30 pm. Mwania was on his way home at the time of the incident.
Kitui County Police Commander Leah Kithei confirmed the accident, stating that although Mwania lost his life, the truck driver escaped unharmed.
Mwania’s body was taken to Kitui County Referral Hospital awaiting postmortem examination.
