Police in Uganda’s West Nile region have arrested a 48-years-old man after he killed his wife over the weekend for denying him sex.

Aguna James is said to have murdered Chandiru Judith, 23. The tragic incident is said to have resulted from a dispute over the denial of conjugal rights.

According to Police Spokesperson Fred Enaga, “The angered husband followed and grabbed her, then hit her around the ribs. The victim fell down on the floor and succumbed to the injuries.”

The couple had been sharing their matrimonial bed without engaging in sexual activities, and tensions arose when the deceased accused her husband of extra-marital affairs.

Enaga expressed concern over the increasing cases of gruesome murders in domestic settings, particularly involving spouses.

He emphasized, “We should be reminded that every spouse, partner or lover has a right to life, which has to be respected instead of taking the law into one’s hands.”

The police spokesperson highlighted the importance of respecting the right to life to prevent tragic consequences in domestic relationships.
