Minne Kariuki, renowned for her role as Mariah in Kenya’s beloved drama series “Single Kiasi,” recently shared a personal anecdote about ending a relationship due to an unsatisfactory gift.
In a candid conversation with Pulse Kenya, Minne recounted how a suitor’s gift of a Toyota Vitz instead of the Mercedes she desired made her realize her lack of romantic interest in him.
“I knew I didn’t like him when he gifted me a Toyota. And all I wanted was a Mercedes,” she explained, suggesting that the man either missed her hints or disregarded her preferences.
“So my first car, I wanted an A series Mercedes. I’ve always loved Mercedes like, it’s a thing and he gifted me a Vitz. It didn’t last two years . Let’s just say I was done. That’s when I knew I didn’t like him,” Minne recounted.
Despite this dating misadventure, Minne has found happiness with her longtime boyfriend and Jaguar’s former manager, Charles Muigai, known as Lugz Kenya. The couple celebrated their union with a customary wedding ceremony on December 11, 2021, and now have two children together.
Minne’s rise to fame began with her portrayal of Mariah in “Single Kiasi.” Mariah, a modern slay queen sponsored by wealthy older men, captivated audiences with her boldness and opulent lifestyle.
In addition to her role in “Single Kiasi,” Minne gained recognition for her performance as Wivina in the television series “Tabasamu.” She also appears in the reality show “The Real Housewives of Nairobi,” offering viewers a glimpse into the lives of affluent women in the city.
