Popular comedian Vincent Mwasia, known by his stage name Chipukeezy has pulled out his show from airing on the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC).

In a statement released by his company, Ufalme Entertainment, Chipukeezy disclosed that KBC had failed to fulfill payment obligations for the Chipukeezy Show, as stipulated in their contract, since November 2023.

The show, which previously aired every Monday from 8 pm to 9 pm on the national broadcaster, abruptly went off the air.

“It is with a heavy heart we must inform you of the ongoing delay in payments from our media partner KBC. Since November, we have encountered significant delays in receiving payments from KBC, despite our best efforts to uphold our commitment to all stakeholders involved in the production of ‘The Chipukeezy Show’,” the statement read.

Chipukeezy addressed inquiries regarding the show’s hiatus, emphasizing that the delayed payments had impeded the show’s operations and the ability to compensate other stakeholders involved in production.

The statement, signed by Michael Muthama on behalf of Ufalme Entertainment, underscored the team’s dedication to maintaining professionalism and integrity, highlighting the adverse effects of the payment delay on partners, suppliers, and artists.

The comedian assured fans that efforts were underway to engage with KBC to resolve the payment delay and resume airing the show in due course.

The statement also expressed gratitude to the show’s supporters for their unwavering viewership and participation, which continue to drive the team’s mission to entertain and nurture talent.
