Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has garnered the top spot on the list of best-performing Cabinet Secretaries, as per a recent report unveiled by Politrack Africa under the Starleaders awards.
Following closely behind, Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi secured the second position, with the digitization of the agriculture sector being cited as a significant catalyst for growth, particularly in farming.
Polittrack Africa’s report further ranked Cooperatives Cabinet Secretary Simon Chelugui in third place, while Trade and Investments Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano clinched the fourth position, making her the sole female representative in the top five category.
During the release of the poll at a Nairobi hotel, the agency highlighted the diverse performance among cabinet secretaries, noting effective leadership, policy innovation, and service delivery as distinguishing factors.
In the counties category, Kakamega Governor Fernandez Baraza emerged as the top performer, with Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki and Narok Governor Patrick Ole Ntuntu jointly securing the second position. Isiolo Governor Abdi Guyo followed closely, claiming the third spot.
Politrack Africa’s assessment extended to ranking principal secretaries, with Mining Principal Secretary Elijah Mwangi leading the pack, closely trailed by Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo. Ephantus Kimotho, the Irrigation PS, secured the third position, while Public Health and Professional Standards PS Mary Muthoni stood as the only female representative in the top five, alongside Geoffrey Kaituko of Shipping & Maritime Affairs.
In the legislative realm, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro was recognized as the best-performing legislator, with Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi securing the second spot. Kabete MP James Githua Wamacukuru and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino shared the third position.
Politrack Africa conducted the survey between March 11th to 18th, 2024, using phone calls and online voting methods. The survey encompassed 290 constituencies across all 47 counties and eight regions in Kenya, ensuring national representation through proportionate allocation of the survey sample across regions.
