Nine Heads of State and a Prime Minister have arrived in Kenya to attend the International Development Association (IDA21) for the African Heads of State Summit scheduled for April 28 to 29.
The two-day summit, held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi, aims to support an ambitious and robust 21st Replenishment of the Resources of the International Development Association (IDA).
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the resources are intended to aid the continent in addressing development challenges in a sustainable manner, creating prosperous, inclusive, and sustainable economies.
As of Sunday night, the country heads had already landed on Kenyan soil and were ushered to their designated destinations. The leaders include:
- Andry Rajoelina (Madagascar)
- Julius Maada Bio (Sierra Leone)
- Lazarus Chakwera (Malawi)
- Samia Suluhu (Tanzania)
- Hassan Sheikh Mohamud (Somalia)
- Évariste Ndayishimiye (Burundi)
- Mohamed Ould Ghazouani (Mauritania)
- Azali Assoumani (Comoros)
President Faustin-Archange Touadéra of the Central African Republic arrived on Saturday.
Also in attendance is Côte d’Ivoire Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé.
