Residents of Kuresoi North, Nakuru County, have been left reeling in disbelief as two men exchanged their wives amid allegations of infidelity.
Elders of Kipsata village under the leadership of Nyumba Kumi chair David Rono convened a meeting on Saturday where they expressed their dismay at what had happened.
“We are perturbed as elders; we have convened to deliberate on this case because it’s a rare incident, not only in Kiptororo but also unheard of in the Kalenjin community. However, we have scheduled to reconvene on Monday to thoroughly examine the matter,” remarked Rono.
The ordeal began when Robert Kiruo found himself at odds with his spouse, who subsequently vanished, leaving behind their two young daughters. D
espite his attempts to seek intervention from village elders over a span of five months, his efforts proved futile. Faced with mounting frustration, Kiruo made the drastic decision to retaliate by pursuing the wife of the man with whom his own wife had eloped.
“When I realized that the man had decided to take my wife, I chose to take revenge by taking his wife, and his wife also agreed because we were both having problems with spouse infidelity,” shared Kiruo.
Recognizing the potential for escalating tensions and conflicts between the involved families, the elders resolved to reconvene on Monday to devise a strategy aimed at addressing the issue before it spirals into chaos.
