Government spokesperson Isaac Mwaura has reassured Kenyans of his safety following an emergency landing of the helicopter he was traveling in, which occurred in Gishungo, Kikuyu constituency.
The emergency landing was prompted by poor weather conditions, as explained by Mwaura. He was accompanied by Kenya Red Cross Secretary General Idriss Ahmed.
The two, along with other officials, were returning from Nyando, Kisumu County, where they had delivered relief non-food items to residents displaced by floods.
“I want to assure my fellow Kenyans that I am safe. Our helicopter had to make an emergency landing in Gishungo, Kikuyu Constituency due to poor weather conditions. Idriss Ahmed, the Secretary General of the Kenya Red Cross, and I had gone to Nyando in Kisumu to deliver relief non-food items to the Floods Affected Persons (FAPs).
“We are grateful that we arrived home safely, and we thank God for this. Happy World Red Cross Day,” Mwaura said.
